The story
For his lifetime, until the invention of auto-focus at the beginning of the nineties, Guy Marineau was the only one among fashion shows photographers to shoot from the front of the catwalk.
This was possible due to a technique of continuous respiration he is alone to practice, that allowed him to shoot "in focus" pictures with a long, long focal...
His rare pictures were praised by designers (Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Chanel, Givenchy, Sonia Rykiel, or Christian Lacroix...), and by medias like Womenswear Daily, Vogue, and many others around the globe.
The site release, July 2009
During the last 3 years, Guy Marineau has spent most of his workload selecting and digitizing his lifetime achievement, and he's quite proud to unleash his website FashionShowsArchives.com, with 200.000 of his gems !
Today you'll find here most of Haute Couture from Paris, and an important part of Paris Ready To Wear too.
The remains of the archive -- just another 200.000+ RTW from Paris, Milan, New York and London -- will be published on a regular basis in the coming year(s).
